Lieve Blancquaert is vooral bekend om haar portretfotografie. Het is voor haar een extra en soms sterkere vorm van communicatie. Ze toont in deze expo een foto van haar zoontje Boris. Het beeld bevat naast het komische ook verdriet. Twee emoties die dikwijls hand in hand gaan. Voor haar zit de magie van de fotografie altijd in de dialoog tussen twee mensen. Het beeld is het antwoord en een onderlijning van die ontmoeting.

Lieve Blancquaert is chiefly known for her portrait photography. For her, it’s an extra and sometimes stronger form of communication. In this exhibition, she shows a photograph of her little son, Boris. The picture has both comic and sad elements. Two emotions that often go hand in hand. For her, the magic of photography is always in the dialogue between two people. The image is the response and the emphasis of that encounter.

Sinds 1985 werkt Lieve Blancquaert als freelance fotografe voor verschillende gerespecteerde tijdschriften en kranten in België en Nederland. Naast haar werk als freelance fotografe is ze ook bekend om haar fotoboeken die ze samen met journalisten in elkaar zet.

Lieve Blancquaert has worked as a freelance photographer for various respected magazines and newspapers in Belgium and the Netherlands since 1985. In addition to her freelance photography, she is also known for her photo books, which she compiles together with journalists.
