Mensen vormen een beeld van elkaar, vooral bij de eerste ontmoeting. We vullen stukken van andere mensen in met onze eigen gedachten en interpretaties. Dat doen we omdat we bewust en onbewust weten dat wij als persoon een puzzel zijn voor anderen en voor onszelf. Puzzled is mijn weergave van deze puzzel. Sommige delen van de puzzel zijn correct belicht en andere zijn onder- of overbelicht. Zo staan we als persoon in het leven, correct, overbelicht en onderbelicht. Als alles correct belicht is krijg je een perfect beeld en valt de puzzel weg.

People form an impression of one another, particularly the first time they meet.
We fill in pieces of other people in our own thoughts and interpretations.
This is because we know, consciously and unconsciously, that as people we are a puzzle, both for others and for ourselves. Puzzled is my representation of this puzzle. Some pieces of the puzzle are correctly exposed and others are under or overexposed.
That’s how we appear in life as a person, correctly exposed, overexposed and underexposed. If everything is correctly exposed, you get a perfect image and the puzzle is no more.

Marc Vonstein (Hasselt, 1971)
In 1997 creëerde Marc Vonstein zijn eerste kunstbeelden (the king is red) waarmee hij exposeerde in Brussel . Vrijwel onmiddellijk belandde hij in de modewereld en werkte op commerciële basis voor toonaangevende mode- en lifestylemagazines, kranten, modeontwerpers en -labels. In 2003 maakte hij een vrij werk rond de daklozen van Chicago. In 2006 nam hij deel aan het project Uchronia op het Burning Man Festival in de woestijn van Nevada, een initiatief van Jaga en Arne Quinze. Zijn verdere carrière wil hij invullen met vrije fotografische expressies en installaties.

Almost immediately, he found himself in the fashion world, working commercially for trendsetting fashion and life-style magazines, newspapers, fashion designers and fashion labels. In 2003, he produced a free work on the homeless of Chicago. In 2006 he participated in the Uchronia project at the Burning Man Festival in the Nevada desert, which was initiated by Jaga and Arne Quinze. He intends to spend his further career on free photographic expression and installations.
